"we need to talk"!
men hate to hear those four words coming off of their gf's pouty lips.
we know what they are really saying is, that they need to chew our butts and we need to take it!
I am so bad about that!
I am really bad about letting people finish their conversation!..I am aware of it and trying to change..honest!
I even irritate me sometimes..
Drives my kids crazy...Hey..I remember all thoses times I was talking and they interrupted me!..Maybe I am just paying them back now that they are adults..

Talking can become redundant after awhile when it is the same thing over and over and over and over..you get my point?
Sometimes I think women talk when they are bored..find something interesting to do so she doesn't get hung up on "Feelings"..
Not that feelings aren't important..but a little can go a long way on one subject!...
How did you feel when she left? Were you glad she left? How did her doing that (Not letting you talk) make you feel? Relief that she was gone?..Tell her what you feel!
I thought it's supposed to be 50-50..tell her you want equal time!
Tell her "I DEMAND EQUAL TIME!" Insist!..The just sit there and watch TV...

well, this weekend, we had a nice little birthday party for our one-year-old daughter.
my folks, both dubs, were not invited despite living only ten minutes away.
i still respect their beliefs, so did not even bother inviting them.
We went to several "Parties like that"..Especially on New Years! Everyone wished each other a 'Happy New Year"..but it wasn't wrong..everyone knows they can do no wrong...
My JW Mother in law had Turkey on Thanksgiving day every year!
Gave her hubby a "Happy Father's day" card every Year..But it was just because he was a good dad..not because of the holiday..I just scratched my head..
Concerning the turkey...her excuse..they were on sale!..(You could have it on another day..might stumble someone!)...It's a day off work for hubby and a good day for everyone to get together! (Weekends are good too!)
I remember one year..when I wasn't yet a witness..my parents had invited hubby and I for Thanksgiving dinner!....They really looked forward to having us over..They were going to eat around 5...
Well hubby's jw mom decide to have a turkey just because and invited us over..I told hubby that would be hard to do..he insisted we go..it was his Mom!..They were going to eat around 1..no problem..two dinners we could handle that.
Well we get over there and the turkey isn't done yet!..I told her we had to be at my parents around 5..
So we are waiting and waiting..3 PM..not done..well around 4 she checks it and her hubby said something is wrong..he goes outside and the tank is empty for gas..
Now they used to check it all the time!..Anyway he switched the tanks and resumed cooking the turkey.at a higher heat!...We ate at 5..so I guess she thought she had us..but we still went to my parents (Got there late)and acted like we were soooo hungry..Mom had heated things up several times
Now in my heart I don't think it was on purpose..but I always wondered about that!..She hated my parents. They weren't JW's...
She put them down every chance she got. And you know what..my Mom never said an unkind thing about them...Ever!
(She did want to picket the JW's after I became one tho!)

I found it interesting in the fact that when I worked in the bank..there were quite a few people in the area that still had farm property. They would come in at certain times of the year with HUGE checks..the government paid them to NOT grow crops..
Sort of a land preservative thing. That way the ground could become rich again and wouldn't be overused.
Pretty good scam for the farmers..like a early retirement!
And they usually had full time jobs elsewhere anyway..didn't want to be farmers.

Georgia..I think you were just caught off guard. If you had known they were coming I think you may have acted differently.
Sometimes a compassionate person that is not in the situation will be sorry for the one being yelled at no matter what. Not realizing the horrible pain and suffering that person had been going through with the ones she is yelling at!.
I feel a lot different today than I did many years ago..I didn't feel any anger at all towards them..I probably would have been defensive for them also. But today..knowing what I do about them..and how they treat others..I would probably attack any one of them ..just because they were there!..Even if it wasn't the offending party..just because the pain of how they treated hubby is so fresh in my mind.
Also over the years..I have seen so many in pain here on the boards because of the shunning process..and remember how they used to preach that Satan separates families in the last days....well..I have come to realize how wrong that is..they are the ones doing the evil work..
Because of that..I have a lot of anger also..If I knew they were coming to see me I would be able to control it..but if they showed up unexpectedly..I would probably end up yelling! I can't remember when I ever really lost my temper with anyone. I would usually just walk away to avoid a confrontation. But believe me..if they EVER came calling..you would probably hear some yelling!..And I would probably follow them to their cars!..
Sounds healthy to me...
